Calidora
About
In The Begining:Calidora was born durring the late 700s in Ireland durring the viking era. After her family was wiped out durring a raid by the Norwegain warriors she was rescued by the first vampire of their kind — Gaea, a tall, lithe woman with darker skin than she had seen on the island and the same green eyes as her own. She had been accompanied by a man named Anastasios, that spoke foreign words that she could not understand, though his smile eased her fears and his songs soothed her to sleep. It took several months before Calidora said a single word, another year or so before she spoke openly to her saviors. Wheather due to the language barrier or the experience she endured is still unknown even to her after all this time. The Princess of Darkness:It was years before either of her surrogate parents ever entertained the idea of turning their foundling, only doing so when she nearly died from a mysterious fever in her twentes. After it was found that she may have contracted the illness from a shepherd's son in a nearby village she was banned from ever leaving the confines of their makeshift compound without a companion. After her transformation she was brought before the coven where Gaea demanded she be given the same respect as their queen, viewing her as a possible future replacement. Though most of them had known Calidora since the founding of the coven over a decade past, some were less than keen on this move. Especially after Gaea had only recently demanded they stop turning vampires after a group of witches threatened retaliation if their numbers continued to grow. Some even decided to leave the safety the coven afforded them, though most returned when newly initiated hunters began tracking them down.In order to keep her busy, once properly trained herself, Calidora was put in charge of a group of fedglings that had been carelessly turned and left to their own devices by a lone vampire. For centuries she held a place of responsibility over them, protecting them, training them to use their abilities for a war that would never come but that Gaea insisted could happen at any time. It was lifetimes before she noticed what was happening in front of her. As the numbers grew, often at an alarming rate, the older vampires would be taken away to a different location. This, she had been told, was to keep their numbers down. It was a vampire that had been turned the day she was rescued that brought it to her attention first; they would leave and never come back, she had never been told where they were sent, and they were never allowed near the older group; especially the queen. It took time, but eventually Calidora was able to uncover the truth; one that could not be easily forgiven. They had all been turned by the coven, given to her to keep her occupied (Gaea feared she would eventually want to leave on her own), and traded to hunters, witches, and human rulers in Gaea's attempt to stave off a war or outright extinction. The revelation of her mother's deception had been a slap across the face, and a stain on her own hands that she could not overlook. Though Gaea insisted the fault was all her own, Calidora has never been able to shake the feeling that she held equal guilt in the betrayal of her group. She fought to free the rest of them, succeeded, and was physically punished for it by Gaea's own hands. The gashes on her back healed, but out of her paranoia and desperation Gaea had shattered any trust or love Calidora once held for her. Calidora denounced her place along with the coven, leaving soon after.A New World:For over 350 years Calidora has lived most of her life on her own, doing her best to keep a low profile. Gaea still watches, protecting her when the need arises, but she knows better than to get too close. Cali still prefers keeping to herself, though her loneliness has won out on ocassion and she has taken the odd lover from time to time, human or other. She tries to feed only when necessary, and only from those willing to fall into her charms first, careful never to take too much, or cause any lasting harm.Gaea still sends Anastasios to check on her from time to time; a subtle reminder that, should she get out of hand, Calidora can always be dragged home. Still considered heir apparent by Gaea, so long as she keeps a low profile she will be left alone until or if the coven absolutely needs her. Calidora is determined to put that fight off as long as possible.
Rules
Writing Style:I am descriptive and expect my partners to be as well. I don't need you to write a novel per reply and "brevity is the soul of wit", but I need more than broken sentences and one word actions. Also, I have been on this platform for years, I do my best to accommodate all of my partners, but I won't put up with those that refuse to put any effort into their writing. I try to offer my best, at least offer me half as much. I also get busy with work and family so my replies may be sparse at times. I will never rush or badger you for a reply, I expect the same in return.Shipping:Calidora will ship based off of chemistry. She is multiship, but I prefer to play things by ear and see how we write together before shipping our characters. She also doesn't really have a preferance in gender or sexuality so as long as we start off with a nonromantic SL anything is possible later on.NO NOS:NO MINORS! This account can be explicit, (I try to keep the really racy stuff off of the TL) and can deal with mature topics. I do not interact with minors and Cali will definitely never ship with minors. I do not care if you are thirty, if your character or FC is a teenager or younger she will not ship with you no matter what.NO GODMODDING! I'm really not against most things when it comes to SLs as long as it is well planned out and both parties are in agreement. Kidnapping and torture? Sure, she heals. Death? Why not? I can always keep her alive outside of our SL. BDSM? She's old enough to have tried most things, though I would need a whole separate list of dos and don'ts for that. But I will never put up with you controlling her actions to fit what you want her to do, or how you want her to respond, and any severe treatment should always be discussed ahead of time not thrown in out of nowhere.Cali has the ability to compel most others to do what she wants, and the physical strength to overpower most people, but she will never do either one unless I have your consent. Please offer me the same respect. Otherwise, I have no problem with blocking you.
Writer's note
I just want to briefly introduce myself. You can feel free to call me Nicole. I have been on this platform for close to a decade now. I have greatly enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful writers during my time here.My DMs are always open for plotting, and I am never opposed to being mentioned in your SLs. I don't bite and neither does Cali, unless you want her to. I cannot wait for you to meet this new OC of mine and the other characters mentioned in her bio.Best of wishes,
